BIOGRAPHY

Gianna Carbone is a nature artist in Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Florida. She is proficient in digital media, photography and ceramics, along with her concentration of painting and drawing. She’s always been interested in animals which has led to a body of artwork that includes domestic and wild species. Her recent project explores the devastating effects of human activity and encroachment on endangered animals where she depicts their sense of loss when they come in contact with mankind. Selections of her work have been shown at Student Exhibitions at the University of North Florida Art Galleries. She prefers to create her meaningful art using oil paint on hand stretched canvas. It’s a method she enjoys because of its versatility, and she thinks the hand-crafted canvas adds a more personal touch to her nature-themed pieces.
